Elliott Bentley talks about being a Voiceover Artist

Elliott Bentley has been involved in the world of voiceovers for several years. He has worked with companies such as the BBC, Virgin Radio, Zig Zag Productions, Cartoon Network and will, in the coming months, be working closely with Virgin Media Television, voicing promos for several of their TV channels.

Having worked fairly consistently as a voiceover artist for some years, Elliott talks here about his profession and gives invaluable advice and pointers to those who are considering pursuing similar careers.

An informative and entertaining talk, even if you aren’t in the voiceover business!

String

Composer and performing musician String first joined a band when he was at school. He became hooked on music . Since then he’s been in many different bands with varying degrees of success – always chasing the chance to “make it”. He spent much of the ‘90s trying to be successful with the band Dead After Dark. Despite hundreds of gigs in the UK and tours abroad success eluded him. Eventually he realised that there might be other ways to make a living in the music industry.

His talk covers the advice that many young bands are given on how to follow the route to success. He also has anecdotes to illustrate how successful, or otherwise, some of that advice was for him in his career.

These days String still records and performs with his band Firedaze. He also runs a small recording studio and composes music for the media: most recently a TV ad for Barclays Commercial Bank shown on Sky TV.
